Solomon the King writes to his Son saying, "Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine." The most powerful king that ever walked the earth, with a greater only found in Jesus, tells his Son out of his own experience, that the discipline to adopt into his life in order to begin experiencing the overflow of blessing is "giving."

God does not mean for us to be only recipients of His blessings, but to be avenues of His blessing into the lives of others. God is against everything in our lives that keeps us from experiencing His goodness. Consequently, God wants to move us far from selfishness, and into generosity, to be channels of His goodness into the lives of the community.
